Maths Today!

In maths today we have learned how to use some new symbols to help us compare two numbers – the greater than and less than symbols.

>  greater than        <  less than.

We did really well remembering that the the crocodile we had in class  always wanted to eat the greater number!

We also needed to remember to read the number sentence from left to right.

25 >22    but      21<22

I was really impressed with the way the children used the symbols correctly in their work.  The crocodile was really hungry so we fed him lots of numbers!

Mathletics has a great activity that the children can do to practice using  < and > symbols.

Log into Mathletics under “Number” then click “Compare Numbers to 20” to find it. ¬†Good Luck!
