Thank you everyone for all the lovely cards, gifts and good wishes. Your help and support this year has been appreciated by all the Year 2 team.
Children, you have been magnificent and have been a super class to teach. I have been proud to be your teacher and look forward to seeing you go onwards and upwards in year 3 and throughout the school.
Have an enjoyable and relaxing holiday everyone.
(And don’t forget, the library is running it’s Summer reading challenge and Miss Sliyzs set you some activities too)
Our Enchanted Kingdom project based around “Mysterious Forests” was completed with a marvellous day of celebrations on Thursday. In the morning, a group of year 2 children presented an overview of our work to an audience of Key Stage One children and special guests. All the children in the class had contributed to making the slides and writing the words for our presentation. I was so proud of the way our “presenters” confidently stood in front our guests to share our ideas and work.
In the afternoon, it was so lovely to welcome mums, dads, nans and grandads into our classroom to see the super home learning projects on display, alongside the art work on our walls and individual work in our topic books.
Many thanks for all the donations for the biscuits decorated by the children. The money will go towards helping to make our school grounds a safer and more friendly environment for the dwindling hedgehog population.
Children, what did you enjoy learning about during our work on the rainforest and what helped you with your learning? I’d like to hear from you!
( PS-apologises but the glitch on my blog means I am unable to attach pictures)
Could the children please bring a named carrier bag to school on Monday as they will have lots of books and pictures to bring home.
Yesterday, the children were introduced to the Summer Reading Challenge run by the local libraries. This is an excellent way for the children to keep up their love of reading over the Summer holidays.
Check book bags for the information leaflet which has all the important details.
We look forward to hearing all about the library books the children have enjoyed over the Summer and seeing the certificates and stickers they have been awarded in September!
We will be collecting in reading books on Monday. Please bring them to school along with your red book. If you have any library books at home, can they be returned too. Thank you.
Apologises but technology will not allow me to blog any pictures of our projects today. However, we had posters, models, fact files, booklets and even a “living” forest to share in class today. Thank you again to everyone for their hard work and enthusiasm.
What a marvellous set of projects came into school this morning.
The children all had big smiles on their faces as they showed me their work. Such imaginative and creative ideas and presentation styles- well done to everyone ( parents too! ) I can really see how much the children have learned.
Watch this space for pictures of some of the projects tomorrow!
